4. CORONAVIRUS POLICY
If you or your travelling companion or any member of your booking party is diagnosed with COVID-19 or you are required to self-isolate due to COVID-19 guidelines, or you are not allowed to travel to France, you may cancel or amend your booking on the following terms;-
1.For cancellations due to Covid 19, clients can transfer payments to a future booking on C’est La Vie.
2. Where you cancel in accordance with the terms listed below, we reserve the right to retain 10% of the deposit paid to be used against a future booking with us.
a) You may cancel for a COVID-19 reason within four weeks of departure up to and including the day of departure.
b) The right to cancel in accordance with these terms applies to any new booking (whether made with us directly or through an authorised travel agent) until further notice. We reserve the right to withdraw our COVID-19 policy at any time.
c) We have the right to refuse to allow you to cancel and receive a cash refund where we are not reasonably satisfied that you are cancelling for a COVID-19 reason.
d) A cash refund means a refund to your credit / debit card or bank account (depending on how payment was made originally) of the amount you have paid us for your booking.
5. MEDICAL CANCELLATION INSURANCE.
We strongly recommend the purchase of medical cancellation insurance. Purchase of medical cancellation insurance within seven days of submitting deposit provides protection for pre-existing medical conditions.
6. CHANGES BY OPERATOR.
Waterways are subject to closure because of lock repairs, drought, flooding, or generally unsafe conditions. Therefore, all announced routes are subject to change at any time. These kinds of changes happen rarely, but passengers must be prepared for this eventuality. In the event of closure of canals or rivers, an alternate route of equal interest will be chosen. Change in route will not be accepted as the basis for cancellation of a cruise.
All belongings are carried at your own risk. We strongly advise you to travel with as few valuables as possible. Before leaving home, also confirm that your Homeowner’s Insurance covers all losses in case of theft.
8. AGE LIMIT.
Children under the age of 17 will only be allowed on the boat when the boat has been chartered.
The above Terms and Conditions are standard in the European canal barge industry and will be adhered to. Acceptance of the booking and submission of deposit and/or final payment implies acceptance of these specific Terms and Conditions.
10. CRUISE INCLUDES:
6 nights/7 days in a cabin with a private bath, chauffeured transfers from Paris to the barge & return, all meals, from dinner the first night to breakfast the last morning, all wines with lunch & dinner, open bar, daily escorted excursions and use of onboard bicycles.
11. CRUISE EXCLUDES:
Airfare to and from France, crew gratuity (suggested amount is 5-10% of your cruise price), the optional but strongly recommended medical cancellation insurance, items of a personal nature such as phone calls, food and drink taken off the barge, and such optional activities as hot air ballooning.
Barge Industry standard is 5-10% of your cruise price paid in Euros directly to the Captain. He will distribute to the crew. Gratuity will not be accepted via personal checks, traveller’s checks or credit card payments. ATM’s are plentiful during the cruise.
